Woman escapes possible kidnapping; They find four turtles and a canine corpse

HOUSTON – Authorities report the arrest of a 43-year-old suspect who allegedly kept his ex-girlfriend/wife confined in subhuman conditions inside their residence in the 21000 block of Glen Willow Dr in the Tomball area. The 62-year-old woman managed to escape from the house and ran to her neighboring house, where she was able to alert the police.

Faced with this situation, the SWAT team of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was present to evacuate the suspect and capture him. Meanwhile, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office offered its support to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HSPCA) since inside the house they found a large number of animals.

In total, four tortoises and three Bullmastiff dogs and four African tortoises were rescued. However, investigators made a gruesome discovery: a dog in an advanced state of decomposition was found in a closet. Live animals were immediately transported to HSPCA facilities for care related to heat and other health issues.

The case is still being investigated and additional charges are expected to be filed against the suspect.
