The Department of Transportation and Public Works and the Highway and Transportation Authority announced inspection works to the Minillas Tunnel, in San Juan, to be carried out on June 16, 17, 24 and 25.

“The inspection will be carried out over several days, starting on Friday, June 16, from nine in the morning to two in the afternoon,” the authorities said in a statement.

“The lanes adjacent to the tunnel structure and access ramps to and from the tunnel will be partially closed in both directions,” possible traffic congestion is anticipated during inspection hours.

The Minillas Tunnel is a crucial infrastructure in the transportation network of San Juan. These inspection works are essential to guarantee its correct operation and safety for users.

The authorities have recommended that citizens use the WAZE application to find alternative routes and reduce delays in their travel time. “Inside the construction zones many people work, so drivers are urged to pay attention to the signs,” they said.
