The ability to share screenshots directly to Twitter from Xbox consoles has been disabled following changes to the social network’s API in a recent update

Microsoft confirmed the change in a tweet on the official Xbox account on the social network, in addition to teaching an alternative procedure through the mobile application.

In the post, Microsoft warns that the functionality to share screenshots on Twitter directly from the console has been disabled on the console and Xbox Game Bar on Windows.

However, she mentions that sharing can be done through the Xbox app for Android and iOS. Check out the official post below:

However, players can upload videos to Twitter directly from their consoles. Although Microsoft has not exactly confirmed the reason for deactivating the functionality, it comes at a time when Twitter is undergoing changes, forcing large companies to spend more money to access the API.

According to Wired, the changes may require corporations to pay monthly US$ 42,000 (~R$ 211,260) to receive Twitter’s enterprise package on their development platform.

With the functionality lacking on consoles, the official Xbox account has recommended that players use the Xbox mobile app to share their screenshots on Twitter while the issue is not resolved.

In another post, she taught the process. Players simply open the Xbox application on their mobile device, access “My Library”, “Captures”, choose the image or video, select the share option and then “Twitter”.
