Xiaomi has relatively quietly and secretly launched its Instant Photo Printer 1S on the German market. The name says it all: This is a small photo printer that can print out your pictures in about a minute – in two different formats. In principle, prints with 300 x 300 dpi and 256 gradations per color are possible.
The printer can handle JPEG and PNG image formats. The scope of delivery also includes two sets of 20 sheets of photo paper. Appropriately, the included ribbon should be enough for 40 printouts. You can connect the Xiaomi Instant Photo Printer 1S with end devices from Android 5.0 or Apple iOS 10.0. You also need the Mi Home / Xiaomi Home app to use it. However, the photo printer should also do its job on PCs, According to the data sheet.
The printer comes with Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz for integration into the smart home. It weighs around 1.2 kg and measures 194 x 124.6 x 83.6 mm. Basically, the photo printer uses thermal sublimation printing. I already mentioned two formats at the beginning: You can use paper in the format 100 x 148 mm and 86 x 102 mm with the device. In the case of the smaller prints, the back is self-adhesive. Xiaomi also promises a coating of the photos against fingerprints and water.
