HOUSTON – Authorities confirm that Juan Carlos Mata, the 20-year-old accused of shooting and killing his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend Leslie Reyes, returned to the crime scene where he took his own life.
Mata was being wanted for the alleged murder of his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend. The shooting occurred just before midnight at the Oakwood Village Apartments on Pasadena Boulevard. When the 19-year-old arrived home just before midnight, investigators say Mata shot her in the head and fired several shots into the air before fleeing with the gun.
Police reported that Reyes broke up with Mata about a month ago.
