Zelensky visits troops in various locations in Donetsk

Kiev, Jul 29 (EFE).- The Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, announced today that, after visiting the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) on the Bakhmut front (east), he has toured other towns in the Donetsk region .

“Today I am in the Donetsk region. Chasiv Yar, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka. With our soldiers, our heroes,” he says in a video broadcast on his Telegram channel in which he addresses the camera outdoors, in front of of a military vehicle.

During the trip, Zelensky congratulated and decorated various members of the SSO, who according to what he said “are always in the hottest spots on the front, in charge of the most responsible and special tasks.”

The Ukrainian president stressed once again, as he had already done in his previous message from Bakhmut, that at the moment it is not possible to reveal details about the operations of the Special Forces, but assured that they are inflicting “particularly tangible blows” on the enemy.

The SSO are currently active in Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Soledar and participated in the defense of kyiv, and nearby places such as Hostomel, Bucha or Irpin, he said.

Zelensky also referred to the Russian attack last night against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, which according to the authorities has left nine civilians injured, two of them minors, due to the impact of a missile against a block of flats.

For each of these “acts of terrorism”, Russia will feel “the force of justice”, the president asserted, indicating that none of these crimes against civilians will be “forgotten or forgiven”.

Zelenski also alluded to the anniversary of the death of some fifty Ukrainian prisoners of war who were in Russian captivity in the town of Olenivka, which he described as “deliberate and planned killing in advance.”

“May every Russian casualty be a retribution for its wickedness and that every occupier, every Russian murderer, every person responsible for this terror against Ukraine and against the Ukrainians knows that – as long as they are still alive – justice will win,” he concluded. EFE
