Gaschurn-Partenen. (sco) The Heimatschutzverein Montafon, founded in 1906, is the sponsor of the Montafon museums.

The association recently invited to this year’s General Assembly in the Vallülasaal in Partenen. Chairman Michael Kasper, Head of Cultural Studies at Stand Montafon, reported on the wide range of activities, which go far beyond the traditional museum business. The support of the four museums, the extensive collection and the Montafon Archive form the basis of the diverse activities. In addition, an extensive year-round program of events (with a focus on “Luaga, Losna & Stuna”, “septimo” and “Montafon Summit Meeting”) is offered. The publication of numerous books documents the activities. In addition, the Heimatschutzverein is involved in numerous cultural-historical and in particular cultural-landscape (research) projects and works in several cooperations with partners from culture, science and education. The association now has over 1000 members and is one of the largest cultural associations in Vorarlberg.

Among the interested participants at the General Assembly were the two mayors of Inner Frattner, Daniel Sandrell (Gaschurn) and Josef Lechthaler (St. Gallenkirch), Dir. Manuel Bitschnau (Montafon Tourismus), consultant Major Martin Netzer, the committee members Rufus Bertle, Marianne Werle, Leo Walser (former district governor) and his son Christoph Walser, also cashier Judith Ganahl, cash auditor Peter Vergud, chairwoman Marlies Kuster from the Innermontafon crib construction association, Edi Bitschnau, Alfred Spannring, Dagmar Vergut, Erna Ganahl and Heinrike Bargehr.
