Menowin Fröhlich recently weighed 160 kilos. But the DSDS star has lost 30 kilos. And now reveals how he did it.
Darmstadt – Shortly before the start of the new season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” on January 14th, a former DSDS star is making a name for itself. Menowin Fröhlich (35), who recently weighed 160 kilos, managed to lose a lot of weight in a short time.

Menowin Fröhlich’s body weight is like his singing career: a constant up and down. In recent years, the two-time DSDS participant has struggled with his weight. Every success with a customer was followed by the yo-yo effect, but that should finally be over now.
Menowin Fröhlich gained more than 40 kilos last year. Most recently, the 35-year-old weighed 160 kilograms and was 1.73 m tall. The reason for this enormous increase in weight was an accident that he had in early 2021. At the time he still weighed 90 kilos, twisted his foot and tore a ligament. The result: no sport, instead boredom and plenty of time to eat.

His menu consisted largely of Nutella and BigMacs. Menowin Fröhlich consumed 8,000 kilocalories a day, no wonder that at some point his body couldn’t take it anymore. “My health was in serious danger. At that time I was afraid of just dropping dead,” explains Menowin to bild.de.

With a gastric bypass or stomach reduction, 60 to 80 percent of the excess weight and associated diseases can be eliminated in extremely overweight people. Around 1.4 million people in Germany with a body mass index over 40 could benefit from such an operation.

The DSDS singer continued that he had become very ill due to being overweight. “Then you look back on your life and realize that you have to do something.” The solution: a stomach reduction. Menowin has already lost 30 kilos as a result of the operation. But it shouldn’t stop there, 40 more kilos should be down until he has reached his starting weight of 90 kilos again.
