After several expert testimonies explaining what could have happened, the company AiTellyspecialized in 3D engineering animations, has posted a video on YouTube that recreates the implosion in a graphic and didactic way as we had not seen until now:

He clip about 6 minutes long has gone viral on the famous video channel, with more than 6 million views since its publication, on June 30.

What is an implosion?

The narrative begins by explaining that an implosion is “a process of destruction by collapsing inward onto the object itself. Where the explosion expands, the implosion contracts.

the submersible Titan lost communication with its support ship on Sunday, June 18.during a descent to the wreckage of the Titanic, to 3,800 meters below the surface.

Why did it occur?

At a depth of almost 8,000 meters, where the liner sunk in 1912 is located, “There are about 2,540 kilos per 2 square centimeters of pressure,” says the video. “That is nearly 400 times the pressure we experience on the surface.” the narrative continues, attributes the implosion to the elevated hydrostatic pressure in the surrounding water.

Such force made the OceanGate submarine collapsed “in a fraction of a millisecond”, says the video, in which you can see a OceanGate brand three-dimensional submersible being crushed and smashed to pieces.

What went wrong with the experimental Titan?

The narrative blames the accident on Titan’s carbon fiber construction. “Existing technology is based on steel, titanium and aluminum. These are the ones that prevented other submarines from being crushed. But the Titan has had an experimental design.” explain.

How was the video made?

The animation was created using a open source software called Blender, explains an AiTelly spokesperson, who asked to remain anonymous so as not to interfere with his current engineering job at an aviation company.

The 48 seconds of “horror” of the passengers

They created the animation of Titan by taking published information and measurements about the submarine on the OceanGate website and Google and then connecting it to Blender’s 3D modeling software, a process that took them 12 hours.

as already explained to NIUS the engineer and Spanish submarine expert José Luis Martínlas five victims of the implosion probably they realized their fate between 48 and 71 seconds before the disaster struck.
