Accused of making false insurance claims

Two suspects are in serious trouble with the law for allegedly making false insurance claims.

David Alexander Caballero is charged with attempting to defraud Citizens Property Insurance Corporation of $102,000 by submitting fraudulent air conditioning leak claims.

Witnesses interviewed by the police said that he used towels to wet the house to make it look like a broken roof.

On his shoulders are charges such as fraud, theft and conspiracy. Alexander Castellanos is accused of a similar fraud, but with less money involved.

According to authorities, he submitted fraudulent benefit assignment and emergency coverage estimate contracts to defraud Citizens Property Insurance, totaling just over $34,000.

As evidence, the police have found forged signatures on the contracts and the damages contemplated in the claim were fabricated.

Both suspects were tenants of this house located at 11,302 South-West and 73 terrace. Both cases also involve the same insurance company.

The ones who showed the evidence to the police were the owners of the house, the ones who rented to the suspects. Jesus Torín, a financial adviser, believes that they contacted the authorities fearing that an alleged fraudulent claim would damage the value of the property and raise the insurance rate.
