Louis Pagani ceased to be the CEO and president of Arcor. This was communicated in a letter to the board of directors of his company, the historical number one of the largest producer of sweets in the world.
In its bylaws, Arcor establishes that its executives must retire at the age of 65. So Pagani leaves the company that his father founded and which he joined at the age of 32. He will replace them as president, his brother Alfredo Pagani.
“I am approaching you to share that, after more than 30 years as President and CEO of Arcor Group and, respecting the provisions of the group’s standards, a new stage and a process of renewal in the company’s leadership begins, with a new conformation in its board of directors”, begins the letter to the board of directors.
Arcor is the main food company in Argentina and the main exporter of confectionery from Argentina, Chile and Peru. It has 45 industrial plants, 21,000 employees and has a production volume of 3 million kilograms per day. In 2022 its net sales were 3.5 billion dollars.
“Starting in May, I will be leaving my role in running the company and my brother Alfredo Pagani will take over as President of Arcor, accompanied by a new structure that will be communicated shortly. I thank each one of the people who have been close to me in all these years and who, with their commitment, have made it possible for Arcor to become a leading multinational group, present in more than 100 countries”, added Pagani.

I enjoyed the visits to plants and offices around the world and the contact I had with you. I hope I have been able to convey to you the importance of working from the heart and as a team, with the ethics that characterizes us, generating bonds of trust and closeness. I am convinced that, under Alfredo’s leadership, Arcor will continue consolidating the path of growth and expansion as a sustainable company, facing a world full of opportunities. In this new stage that is beginning, I invite you to continue building the future we dream of, working with the passion and entrepreneurial spirit that makes us unique and is in our DNA”, the now former president of the company.
The assembly of the company approved today the appointment of Alfredo Paganiwho has been vice president of the board of directors since 2005.
The board of directors of the company has several other members of the family. Mario Pagani is the new vice president and among the new directors is Andrea Ceciliadaughter of Luis and third generation on the board. lilia and Karina Pagani They are deputy directors.
According to a company statement, the outgoing president was in charge of the company’s international expansion and numerous alliances, including the formation of Bagley Latin America with the French group Danone, the alliance with Mastellone-La Serenísima, the productive associations in Mexico with Grupo Bimbo and in Angola with Grupo Webcor, the alliance built with Coca-Cola for the joint development of new products and the creation of Kamay Ventures, the first Argentine capital fund designed to finance start-ups with innovative projects and the Developed with Laboratorios Bagó to create a broad innovative portfolio of dietary supplements under the Simple brand.
Arcor began its activity on July 5, 1951 manufacturing candies and today it reaches more than 100 countries through three business divisions: mass consumption foods, agribusiness and packaging.
