It is a shocking finding that is shocking in its clarity and precision: the former Archbishop of Freiburg Robert Zollitsch, like his predecessor Oskar Saier, consistently covered up sexual abuse by clerics. Apparently it was crucial for him to keep the reputation of the church pure and to protect the community of consecrated men. (…) The head of an institution that proclaims the good news and preaches charity apparently didn’t care how the victims were doing.
