Aitana explains the composition process of Akureyri

MIAMI.- Aitana and Sebastin Yatra premiered Akureyri, The third single for which these artists join their voices and perhaps one of the most anticipated, because after a few months apart, the song seems to reveal that the Colombian and the Spanish have resumed their romance.

During an interview that Aitana gave to the magazine Billboardthe performer addressed what the process of composing the piece was like, which in just five days already has more than two million views on YouTube.

“It seems that we understand each other very well in the studio. We understand each other very well for a long time, so having that complicity with someone inside a studio is very difficult for me; having that complicity that you enter a studio and you get a very beautiful song again and again,” said the singer about her creative process.

Akureyri It is inspired by a trip they made to the town of Iceland in June 2023 to celebrate the 24-year-old girl’s birthday.

“Sebastin started singing some verses, and I started making the melody. And we finished the song in a car,” Aitana explained.

And it was precisely this natural process of how the song was born, which both stars wanted to reflect in the video clip.

Projects

Although Aitana revealed little about her upcoming projects, she did emphasize that for her next album she has several compositions by Yatra.

“Not songs to sing together, but songs for my project as composers, both of us.”
