In the search for a new number one, the sports directors of Ajax Amsterdam have apparently also struck gold in Spain. According to Fabrizio Romano, the top Dutch club have chosen a clear favorite in Gerónimo Rulli (30) from FC Villarreal. Ajax has already made initial contact with the goalkeeper, according to the Transfermarkt insider.

However, Rulli is set for the yellow submarine and still has a contract that is valid until 2024. It is therefore extremely unlikely that the four-time national player can be transferred cheaply. At the World Cup in Qatar, Rulli was a substitute keeper for the Argentines. In addition to the world champion, Oranje keeper Andries Noppert (28) is also an Ajax candidate.
