The struggle for Kylian Mbappé’s commitment last summer is already legendary among industry observers. Real Madrid were keen to land the French superstar and had already agreed on a deal that was ready to be signed. Then, however, Mbappé’s employer Paris St. Germain straddled the royal and persuaded the runner-up to stay.
Admittedly, this process was quite unique in its dramaturgy, if only in terms of the size of the personnel. Marco Asensio is not quite at Mbappé level, but the Spaniard is not exactly a lightweight on the transfer market either – Asensio is inevitably there as long as the extension of his contract, which expires at the end of the season, is pending.
Apparently, it cannot be ruled out that PSG will thwart Real’s plans again – only this time in a poaching role. Spanish ‘Sport’ reports on the Parisians’ interest in the Spanish winger. The Madrilenians would like to continue to rely on Asensio, but no agreement has been reached so far. Is PSG taking advantage of this?
