The announcement of a killing spree at the Dornbirn-Haselstauden middle school in Vorarlberg led to a large-scale police operation in mid-November.

The 16-year-old called the school in Vorarlberg from Burgenland at around 9.45 a.m. and said: “Today there will be another killing spree at the school.” 334 students were literally locked in their eleven classes. Police task force Cobra arrived and searched every corner of the sealed off school building. In addition, all available police forces in and around the Dornbirn district were deployed and roads were closed.

None of the protégés were allowed to stay in the corridors or on the forecourt. They were first guarded by the Cobra task force and then taken by bus to a collection point where the worried parents were waiting.

Investigations against 16-year-olds …

The investigations against the young Burgenlander have been discontinued. According to a psychiatric report, the young person is not of sound mind and is not dangerous either, the Eisenstadt public prosecutor’s office confirmed on Tuesday at APA’s request in a report by ORF Vorarlberg.
