If you use Android Auto on your smartphone in the vehicle and are surprised that “Hey Google” no longer works as a shout, you are not alone. There are now numerous users reporting this error in the Google product forums. Either the assistant doesn’t react at all, or the display goes black.

According to a member of the Android Auto team, the problem has already been escalated to the developers, so it is hoped that this will be fixed soon. A user describes how he had success again with uninstalling a Google app update, maybe this way is something for you, if you don’t want to do without the assistant.

The Google Assistant bug is not yet entered in the list of known bugs, since this list was last updated in the middle of the month. Numerous errors still need to be fixed, and the Pixel 7 in particular still seems to cause a few problems when you look at the list:
