Apple introduced new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. Driven by these two chips, the MacBook Pro is much faster than the MacBook Pro equipped with the fastest Intel chip when dealing with professional tasks that require extremely high performance. For example, the special effect rendering speed is increased by up to 6 times, and the color correction speed Boost up to 2x. MacBook Pro battery life set a new record for Mac models, up to 22 hours. The new MacBook Pro also enhances connection performance, supports high-speed Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6E is not yet supported in mainland China), and the connection speed is up to 2 times higher than that of the previous model. At the same time, the HDMI port supports the connection of 8K displays for the first time. Equipped with up to 96GB of unified memory, the M2 Max lets creatives tackle large scenes that PC laptops can’t handle. MacBook Pro also features a Liquid Retina XDR display, rich connectivity options, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a six-speaker sound system and studio-quality microphones. The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will be available to order from January 19, and will be officially released on February 3 (Friday), starting at 15,999 yuan.

The M2 Pro chip on the MacBook Pro is equipped with a 10-core or 12-core central processing unit, including up to 8 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores, and its performance is up to 20% higher than that of the M1 Pro chip. The unified memory bandwidth of the M2 Pro chip is double that of the M2 chip, up to 200GB/s, and provides a unified memory of up to 32GB, helping users process large-scale projects at high speed and run multiple professional-level apps. The new-generation graphics processor is equipped with up to 19 cores, and the graphics performance can be increased by up to 30%; the speed of the neural network engine is increased by 40%, accelerating machine learning tasks such as video analysis and image processing. The powerful media processing engine of the M2 Pro chip can process the most common video codecs at high speed, greatly improving video playback and encoding speeds, while maintaining extremely low power consumption.

MacBook Pro now supports high-speed Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6E is not yet supported in mainland China), and the wireless connection speed has been increased; at the same time, it supports connecting 8K displays at up to 60Hz through more advanced HDMI ports and 4K displays at up to 240Hz. These new features further enhance the versatile connectivity options already available in MacBook Pro, including three Thunderbolt 4 ports for high-speed connection to external devices, an SDXC card slot, and MagSafe 3 charging port.

The new MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will be available to order starting January 19. Customers in mainland China can order through apple.com.cn/store and the Apple Store app. MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will be available starting Friday, February 3 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, New Zealand and Singapore.
