VISALIA, California – Visalia police detectives are investigating a shooting Sunday night at the EZ Mart Liquor business that left the employee and suspected robber dead.

At about 11 pm on June 11, several shots were heard in the area of ​​Walnut Avenue and Giddings Street. When authorities arrived to investigate they found two gunshot victims.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 16-year-old suspect tried to rob the liquor store, but he and the employee exchanged shots during the robbery.

The minor attacker was found in the parking lot of the shopping center with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to Kaweah hospital where he subsequently passed away.

Officers found the lifeless body of the 20-year-old employee inside the store.
