Authorities destroy marijuana, cocaine and crack in Tamaulipas

A large quantity of narcotics, including marijuana, cocaine and crack, were burned by the Mexican authorities in Tamaulipas as part of efforts to combat drug dealing in that city.

The Tamaulipas State Attorney General’s Office, with the support of the National Defense Secretariat, carried out the burning of the narcotics. Prior to the destruction of the drugs, experts carried out the authenticity test, proceeding to incinerate more than 50 kilograms of marijuana, cocaine, psychotropic drugs, and crack stone.

The destruction of the drugs was carried out in the facilities of the 8th. Motorized Cavalry Regiment, an event attended by Mario Alberto López Hernández, municipal president of Matamoros; Luis Carlos Portillo Alarcón, commander of the 8th. Motorized Cavalry Regiment; Jonathan Benet González, representing the First Naval Zone; Julián Román Ruiz, second deputy inspector of the National Guard; Ludwin Porras Rangel, Regional Delegate of the State Guard in Matamoros; and Julio García Lartigue, representing the Ministry of Health.

With these types of actions, the Tamaulipas State Attorney General’s Office endorses its commitment to work together with public security institutions to not allow impunity for crimes that threaten the health of Tamaulipas families.
