This week alone, the James Cameron film grossed $15.7 million in theaters in the United States, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

Worldwide, The Waterway has grossed an estimated $2.1 billion, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens to be the fourth highest-grossing film of all time.

In second place was the animated film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish with $10.6 million in its sixth weekend. The animated film has a total of 140.8 million in the United States and Canada and recently came out for streaming as well.

The third place was occupied by A Man Called Otto, which obtained 6.8 million dollars, being exhibited in 3 thousand 957 rooms. Indian film Pathaan came in fourth.

The horror film, M3GAN, reached its fourth weekend with $6.4 million, increasing its figure to $82.3 million in the United States.

The romantic comedy Maybe I Do, with Diane Keaton, Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon, grossed $562,000 after opening in 465 theaters. And Lukas Dhont’s drama Close opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles, taking in $68,143.

Several studios whose films were nominated for Oscars have re-released their films, including Everything Everywhere at the Same Time, which has generated $71 million so far.
