The Bierkönig has an excellent location in the immediate vicinity of the “Playa de Palma”. Visitors can reach the beer garden, including the large open-air discotheque, at Ballermann 6 in the well-known “Schinkenstraße”.
The Bierkönig is also known as the living room of the Germans in Mallorca. That means: It invites you to feel good. Thousands of regulars visit the Bierkönig every summer, so many visitors know each other. Even in the winter months, guests can look forward to live shows and events. Especially during carnival or New Year’s Eve, there are boisterous celebrations inside the Bierkönig.
Opening and owner
In 1988 the Bierkönig was opened as a pub by two locals from the island. Business was bad for the first few years. A year after the opening, the German entrepreneur Manfred Meisel bought the restaurant. He had it renovated and celebrated the grand reopening in 1990. In November 1997, the German was found shot dead on his finca. His eight-year-old son Patrick and his colleague Claudia Leisten were also killed.
► The murders have not yet been solved. In 2022, the RTL broadcaster broadcast the series “Der König von Palma”, which focuses on the exciting story of Manfred Meisel.

The Bierkönig offers space for around 3,500 people on an area of more than 5,000 m². The outdoor area, partially enclosed in glass, resembles a Bavarian beer garden and is equipped with several bars, a huge screen, a dance floor and a large show stage for live performances.
In 2002, a two-story indoor area was built so that loud music can still be used to party into the night. In this area there are also numerous bars, dance floors and a show stage.
There is even a huge balcony on the second floor, from which guests can look directly down onto the show stage. This allows you to look at the hit stars from a different perspective.

New rules of conduct
At Ballermann-Strand there has been a zero-tolerance policy for “booze tourism” for a long time. In order to improve the image of the island, rules of conduct for all visitors to the Ballermann bars have been drawn up for the new season.
