All areas are affected this weekend by the February school holidays. Friday is classified as orange, especially in Ile-de-France. And red Saturday over a large eastern half of the country.

Watch out for the crossover. This weekend of February 18 and 19, the three school zones will be on vacation, which announces heavy traffic from Friday. The day of February 17 is thus classified orange in Ile-de-France and in the South-West. That of Saturday February 18 will be the most complicated: it is notably classified red in the direction of departures over a large northeast quarter, from the Grand Est to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

This Friday evening, the Paris region but also the academies of Toulouse and Montpellier will be on vacation. Traffic is therefore classified as orange in the direction of departures in Ile-de-France and in a large south-west quarter.

Bison Futé advises leaving or crossing Île-de-France and major cities before 11 a.m. and avoiding the A62 motorway, between Toulouse and Agen, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“The first slowdowns may appear in Île-de-France from the end of the morning on the A6 motorway, between Wissous and Chilly-Mazarin. They will gradually turn into traffic difficulties from the start of the afternoon, mainly on the A6A, A6B, A86 and A6 motorways”, can we read in the Bison Futé press release.

“The traffic peak should be reached towards the end of the afternoon. Traffic will remain heavy on the A6 until the end of the evening”, continues the organization.

A red Saturday in the direction of departures

This Saturday will be the most difficult day, especially towards the ski resorts. In Burgundy, in the East and in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the day is classified red in the direction of departures.

Bison Futé thus advises to leave or cross Île-de-France before 10 a.m. and to avoid the A6 motorway, Nemours and Beaune, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the A43 motorway, between Lyon and Chambéry, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. . “The A6 motorway should also experience difficulties in the direction of departures from the morning until mid-afternoon”, can we read in the press release from Bison Futé.

Traffic will be very busy on the roads of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes with a day classified as orange in the return direction. Avoid the A43 motorway, between Chambéry and Lyon, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., asks Bison Futé.

A green Sunday throughout France

Sunday will be much quieter across the country. Bison Futé has classified it green in both directions of traffic.
