The collision happened around 7 p.m. in the area of ​​the Mülheim-Dümpten junction on the A 40. Several cars, the Düsseldorf motorway police initially spoke of four vehicles, had crashed into each other there. The cars had to be towed away and the “field of rubble” cleared up, according to the police. The highway was closed for this period. The closure in the direction of Essen is currently still in place.

Four people were injured in the accident. The police were initially unable to provide any information on the severity of the injuries. It is also unclear how exactly the accident happened.
