Due to the logistics with which the criminals operated, due to the place chosen and the loot obtained, sources with access to the investigation already classify the millionaire coup in the exclusive country Grand Bell Club de Campo as a VIP “escruche”. It is that based on the information to which EL DIA had access, at least four thieves stole dollars, pesos, three firearms and jewelry from a house located in a gated community in the north of La Plata, and at this time the Police are investigating whether they managed to attack due to the complicity of security or if there was any delivery of information regarding what happened.
According to the reconstruction of the episode, everything happened on Saturday night after 7:00 p.m. in the private neighborhood -located at the intersection of streets 467, between 144 and 146, in the town of City Bell-, one of the most traditional in where they live -among other celebrities and personalities linked to power and politics- the Minister of Social Development, Victoria Tolosa Paz, and the mayor of the City, Julio Garro.
Based on the first testimonies and the videos obtained by the security cameras of the place, it is known that the criminals were traveling in a Peugeot 208 driven by a woman, who was with her face uncovered and accompanied by three men.
The suspects -as shown in the captured images- passed security controls after pretending to have technical problems with the entry card. The situation resulted in their access to the neighborhood being enabled, and they automatically went to the property, whose owner is Reynaldo López, as indicated in the police report of the event.
According to the account of spokespersons and sources in the case, it was around 7:20 p.m. when the thieves were already prowling the facilities. They waited almost two hours until the owner’s son, who is a well-known businessman in the refrigeration industry in the City, left the home.
It was at that moment that the thugs entered through the main entrance of the house, which, according to the official report, “was not locked, it was just closed.” The commando coup took place in less than 10 minutes, in which they managed to steal dollars and pesos, jewelry, three firearms (all with the corresponding credentials) and personal items from a family. There were no injuries or fatalities, since the house was empty at the time of the robbery.
After the daring robbery, those involved would have left through a window, got into the Peugeot and no longer made maneuvers to avoid the access security: they destroyed the barrier and escaped by driving down 467 street in the direction of Belgrano street. The owners of the assaulted house, who arrived at 9:15 p.m., would have come across the car that was carrying the assailants at that moment and upon noticing the robbery, they immediately notified 911.
THE KEYS OF THE INVESTIGATION
The stolen house, located in the central area of the country, has internal cameras that also have an audio system, so with the recordings it was possible to determine that while the three thieves were inside, the woman remained outside giving them orders on how to act by telephone and directing them to specific points of the property.
In this sense, they are trying to find out, as EL DIA was able to corroborate, if there was any delivery of information regarding what happened since in the complaint they said that “they went directly to the safe deposit box.” And that they knew the exact place where he was.
The Police are also investigating whether the thugs managed to enter due to the complicity of the local security agents. At the close of this edition, there were still no suspects or detainees. The case was left in the hands of prosecutor Virginia Bravo of UFI No. 7.
