A multiple accident with eight vehicles involved on the I-95 highway in Miami-Dade left 10 injured and one dead early this Thursday.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., the City of Miami Fire and Rescue Department responded to reports of an eight-vehicle crash involving multiple patients in the southbound lanes of I-95 very near the exit to highway 112.

Upon arrival, teams found eight vehicles that were involved in an accident with ten patients requiring medical assistance, requiring additional units.

As units arrived, paramedics began triaging, treating and transporting the 10 patients, firefighters reported. One patient was pronounced dead at the scene and an adult male was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center in serious condition.

Four other adults were taken to Jackson Hospital in stable condition and the remaining four refused treatment and transportation.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of this multiple accident that keeps the road to the south closed on the morning of this Thursday, June 15.
