A 69-year-old suffered serious injuries in a skiing accident on Friday morning in Damüls. The police are looking for witnesses.

On Friday at around 10:30 a.m., a 69-year-old skier skied down slope no. 15 (blue) from the Ragaz mountain station towards the valley station. When the piste narrowed just before the Ragaz valley station, an unknown skier cut off his path, which meant that the 69-year-old had to swerve to the right and went over the right edge of the piste into a four-metre deep trough and consequently fell. It is unclear whether the unknown skier noticed the accident. The casualty was rescued from the ditch using a rope and flown to Dornbirn Hospital by the GALLUS 2 helicopter. He suffered serious injuries from the fall. Any witnesses who observed the incident are asked to contact the Bezau police station.
