Economy Minister Sergio Massa announced the extension of the Fair Prices program until next June, with an average monthly increase of 3.2%. In total there are almost 50 thousand products made by a total of 482 companies that will be under the agreement.

“Some companies limited the products in the gondola and said that they had no supply in the value chain”, said the Minister. And he stressed: “No one in this deal has to cheat.”

“This program intends, for 86% of the products that Argentines consume, to give them two certainties: that there are almost 50,000 products that from February 1 to June 30 will increase only 3.2% per month; and another certainty is that , as occurred in the first stage of the program, there are 2,000 products that will continue to have a fixed price, which allows the consumer to take care of their salary when choosing on the supermarket gondola,” he said.

“This second stage has more prizes and more punishments,” Massa stressed during the ceremony held at the CCK, to add that “those SMEs” that make up “the production complex, are going to have a credit program to increase the production of capital goods”, which is added to the “accelerated regime of access to the free exchange market”.

In another excerpt, Massa said that “some provinces had authorized increases of up to 40% for March,” and that now “a single criterion has been established for the entire country, which will be announced next Wednesday at the Federal Education Council, which The initial increase decreases by 40% on average and establishes a path of 3.5% until June 30 in the case of schools”.
