It sent shockwaves through London when the characters all heard the disturbing Rivers of Blood speech from politician Enoch Powell, who was highly critical of immigration from Commonwealth countries and the Race Relations Bill.
The speech left nurse Lucille Robinson, played by Leonie Elliott, stunned as she struggled to be away from home.
Things suddenly took a turn for the worse – as the latest episode saw Lucille suffer a nervous breakdown that caused her to step away from her duties.
Things becoming too difficult for the resident nurse, so Cyril decided to buy her a ticket back to Jamaica.
