On Monday, ÖSV ski racer Julian Schütter submitted a petition to the FIS on behalf of 150 athletes as part of the Ski World Championships in Courchevel, France. They call for more efforts in climate protection, because climate change would threaten winter sports accordingly. “Winter doesn’t start before December and because we do a winter sport, our races should only start at that time,” said Schütter at the specially scheduled press conference. On Tuesday, VOL.AT chief reporter Pascal Pletsch spoke to the President of the Vorarlberg Ski Association and FIS course inspector Walter Hlebayna about the proposals and concepts for future climate-neutral ski racing.

Lake Constance was remeasured using state-of-the-art technology on behalf of the “International Water Protection Commission for Lake Constance”. A so-called multi-beam echo sounder and a special form of laser scanning were used – a milestone in water measurement and also for preventive water protection. On Tuesday, Dr. Martin Wessels will give a lecture on the Lake Constance depth measurement project at 7 p.m. in the Dornbirn inatura and will pay a visit to the “Vorarlberg LIVE” studio beforehand.
