Construction of the Northern Corridor advances: it will benefit 400,000 citizens

With movement of soil, cleaning of the domain strip, embankment placement, excavations and the installation of culverts, the construction of the Lot 1 of the Northern Corridor (route PY22), which to date registers 26% execution.

Lot 1 consists of an extension of 50 kilometers. It begins at the Yacaré Ñe’ē intersection, in San Pedro del Ycuamandiyú, with the Ecomipa company being responsible for the work.

Meanwhile, Lot 2 begins at km 50 and ends at km 88, 8, already in the city of Belén, in Concepción. It includes the construction of a 200-meter bridge over the Ypané River and access to the Ybapovó port, 17,268 km long. The company in charge there is the Consorcio Vial Oriental.

Besides, Lot 3 starts in Horqueta and goes to Belén (km 24.5) in what would be Departmental Route 29, then continue along route PY22 to Concepción at km 43.9, whose construction is carried out by Constructora Acaray.

Once completed, the new highway will connect with the San Pedro Agroindustrial Corridorwhich is also under construction.

Everything executed is part of the “Physical Connectivity Project in the Departments of San Pedro and Concepción”, which is financed by the Mercosur Structural Convergence Fund (FOCEM) for a total awarded amount of G. 658,885 million.
