Counter-Strike looks amazing in this video developed with Unreal Engine 5

Since Unreal Engine 5 was released, we have seen hundreds of old video games being recreated on the graphics engine. On this occasion, it was Counter-Strike’s turn, and to be more specific, the Dust2 map of the shooter.

The talented YouTuber, Nic, has managed to give this iconic setting a touch of astonishing realism. In addition, he has employed a “bodycam”-style first-person camera perspective similar to the one seen in Unrecord, which adds a unique immersion layer to the experience. Importantly, this map was produced by a single individual, further highlighting its impressive quality and attention to detail.

Despite the fascinating recreation, unfortunately, Nic has no plans to release this project to the public. Therefore, it will not be possible to enjoy this version of Dust2 on Unreal Engine 5. Similar to other fan-made remakes and remasters with UE5, this work has a purpose more focused on demonstrating the potential of the graphics engine.

Additionally, Nic is creating a game based on his experiences with this project. However, it’s likely that continuing to remaster other titles in UE5 could have boosted his abilities even further.

In the context of Unreal Engine 5, there are a ton of fan recreations. stand out faithful remasters of Dark Souls and STALKER. A few weeks ago, an amazing recreation of world of warcraft and many other games like Death Stranding, Final Fantasy 9, Fallout 4, ARK: Survival Ascended, Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion, and the Skyrim city of Whiterun.
