Cuban mother requests humanitarian visa to come to the US for her son's funeral

Vilma Góngora, mother of the victim, cannot deny the pain and despair that overwhelms her after the death of her son, and the only thing she asks for is a humanitarian visa that allows her to travel to the United States to be at the young man’s funeral.

A mother from Cuba implores an opportunity to say goodbye to her son who died in Miami due to a brain trauma that kept him in a coma for the last five months.

Reinelis Hernández Góngora, brother of the victim, was driving the early morning of the tragedy that occurred at the beginning of the year.

The incident involving a black Toyota and a white Nissan occurred at approximately 3:55 am on February 26, on northbound Interstate 95 near the area of SW 8 ST.

Three people were traveling with him, and all survived except his brother, 24-year-old Reidel Hernandez, who has since been hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Although they were all taken to a hospital, only Reidel remained there until August 4, when he passed away due to complications that had kept him in a coma for the past five months.

“I want you to help me. His funeral will be on Saturday, August 12, and I would like his mother to be there to say goodbye to her 25-year-old son who had not seen each other for 2 years,” is all Miriam Góngora asks for.
