The second suspect in the slaying of a Philadelphia sanitation worker was apprehended Tuesday by federal marshals and uniformed detectives northeast of the city.
It was reported that Rasheem Trusty, 31, was arrested in the 6900 block of Frankford Avenue in connection with the death of the 35-year-old janitor on November 18, 2022.
The violent act occurred in the morning when Ikeem Johnson was a passenger in the garbage truck in which he was traveling down Rowland Street, near Lincoln High School, in the Mayfair neighborhood. Dismounting, Nushar Scott and Rasheem aka “Rasheen” Trusty attacked him.
The victim was shot multiple times as she got out of the truck, according to Commissioner Danielle Outlaw at the time. “We do not believe this was a random act.”
