David Puig is co-leader of the LIV Greenbrier

No.Never has a Spaniard won the Greenbrier Classic or the Greenbrier Amex while it was a PGA Tour tournament. They were not long-distance events, but they were hosted by a historic course such as The Old White, which dates back to 1914 and is today part of an impressive complex.

Today, David Puig is running for victory after maintaining the ascendant line from day one at the LIV Golf Greenbrier and is now co-leader with 128 shots -he signed 65 on the day-, the same as Matthew Wolff, who shot 67 in the second round.

Puig made six birdies during his round and the fight with Wolff reached the 17th hole, in which both signed a birdie to stay even. The two young talents awarded the par in the 18th minute to generate even more excitement for the final outcome this Sunday. The Catalan hit the ball very well and there is no doubt that could become the second Spaniard to win on the LIV circuit after Eugenio López Chacarrawho won last year at LIV Bangkok.

The competition, in any case, will be fierce at the West Virginia tournament. The classification is very tight. There are 14 players in four strokes and among the pursuers, two strokes away, are Bryson DeChambeau and the leader of the LIV, Talor Goochwho has already accumulated three victories and is now on the lookout for a fourth. Sergio García materialized a formidable 66 (135 global), while Eugenio López Chacarra went to 69 (138 total). The man from Castellón is 24th and the man from Madrid 38th.
