The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantissuggested that the legalization of marijuana for adults could make it to the presidential ballot this fall.
The Florida Supreme Court is currently considering a constitutional challenge brought by the DeSantis administration against a campaign seeking to legalize marihuana for adults 21 and older in the state, which currently has the largest medical marijuana market in the country.

The initiative Smart & Safe Floridabacked by $39.5 million, is financed largely by Trulieve Cannabisa Florida-based multi-state operator.
The proposal would allow existing medical cannabis dispensaries to sell to adults 21 and older, giving Trulievewith 131 locations in the state, a prominent position.
However, legalization would face the challenge of obtaining the 60% support needed to pass a constitutional amendment in Florida, although a recent poll finds that 62% of likely voters support legalization.
