Despite a comeback that divided fans and the press, the saga of Dexter, the famous serial killer played by Michael C. Hall, will continue to haunt the small screen. According to information from varietytwo spin-offs and a new season are in the works.

Broadcast between December 2021 and January 2022, the ninth season dubbed Dexter: New Blood had been announced as being the last with Michael C. Hall. A sequel is in development, with a focus on Dexter’s son.

Played by Jack Alcott, the character tries to find a balance after meeting his father. He takes refuge in New York where he fights against his violent nature and his killer instincts, like his father. The project is awaiting validation.

A spin-off series titled Dexter: Origins (working title) has also been validated for broadcast on the Paramount+ platform. This prequel will feature Dexter’s youth in Miami. It is unknown who will play the main character.

“An undeniable popular success”

Spin-off projects on popular characters from the series, such as the terrifying Trinity Killer (played by John Lithgrow in the original series), are also being considered by Paramount+, which is looking to diversify its offer.
