Thanks to tips from an attentive witness, officers from the Düsseldorf police were able to pull a young duo of burglars (both 15 years old) out of circulation on Sunday afternoon (3:30 p.m.). The two girls are suspected of breaking into an apartment in Carlstadt and stealing cash.

On a burglar tour in broad daylight

The duo had been touring in broad daylight. According to the current status of the investigation, the witness had just entered the apartment building on Poststrasse when two girls approached him in the hallway and bumped into him. Immediately afterwards, he noticed that a neighbor’s apartment door was open and the locking plate was damaged. The witness reacted quickly and started chasing the two girls. He ran after them, dialed 110 at the same time and gave the police the location. During the pursuit, he observed how some of the girls changed their clothes and hairstyles.

The police catches the duo at the Estates House

Officials finally arrested the two burglars at the Estates House. In a jacket left behind, which could be assigned to the girls without a doubt, the police found cash that apparently came from the burglary.

The two 15-year-old girls have already been charged with burglary and are being brought before the magistrate.
