The actor, who has just resumed filming the western a year and a half after the fact, reveals that he is preparing a documentary on the incident.

Alec Baldwin wants to give his version of the facts. The American actor, who was charged with manslaughter after a fatal shooting on the set of the film Rust in 2021, before those charges are dropped, is preparing a documentary about the case.

According to information from Variety, the comedian works with Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy. The two men were spotted together with a camera crew in New York, then in Montana, where the filming of Rust a repris.

Another documentary on the incident is in preparation. Entitled Circus of Booksit is conceived by director Rachel Mason and producer Julee Metz, two friends of the fatal shooting victim, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The filming of Rust should end at the end of May. If the lawsuits against Alec Baldwin are dropped, the actor is not exonerated. “The investigation is active and ongoing,” said the two new prosecutors who took over the case in March.

New lawsuits if necessary?

They reserve the right to take further action if necessary. Matthew, the widower of Halyna Hutchins, on the other hand abandoned in October the lawsuits he had initiated in civil against Alec Baldwin. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The charges against the film’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, also charged with manslaughter, are still ongoing. According to the police, it was she who put the ammunition in the weapon used by Alec Baldwin, instead of a dummy bullet.
