In addition to the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann and the engagement of Thomas Tuchel as the new Bayern coach, the search for a striker is a big issue for the Munich team. Before the season, Robert Lewandowski left the German record champions for around 45 million euros and moved to Barcelona.
Since then, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in particular has proven himself as a first-choice striker from October. The Cameroonian international is currently missing due to knee problems. In addition, he was not entirely convincing in the 2023 calendar year. That’s why the Bayern bosses around board member Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidžić are looking for a new striker.
First contact with Napoli Star management
Again and again the names of numerous top attackers haunt around. Munich’s Harry Kane is said to have targeted, then Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani. Now reported Sky of another potential candidate who, while not new to the Munich list, could be getting serious: Naples’ Victor Osimhen.

The 24-year-old is currently having an outstanding season in Italy. In a total of 29 competitive appearances, he scored 25 goals and prepared five more. With Napoli, he leads the Italian Serie A by 16 points. No wonder the 1.86 meter tall striker is also on Bayern’s radar. With a market value of 100 million euros, however, the right foot should not be cheap for Munich.
Information from Sky now shows that Kahn and Salihamidžić are seriously interested. According to the sports broadcaster, there was an initial exchange between Bayern and the Nigerian’s management. Accordingly, those responsible in Munich have made it clear to the consultants that they have a high opinion of the attacker.
At the same time, Osimhen should also be able to imagine a move to the Bundesliga. The striker “wants and would switch to Bayern Munich immediately,” reports Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg. The transfer expert continues: “He’s in the mood for Munich. He was already in the Bundesliga and didn’t ignite at Wolfsburg, but the signs have changed.”
From January 2017 to the summer of 2019, Osimhen was under contract with VfL Wolfsburg, but at the age of 19 he was not successful and was first loaned to Charleroi in Belgium and later sold. Via Lille and Napoli, Osimhen developed into a top striker who would now dare to return to the Bundesliga.
