Ukrainian defenders and Russian attackers once again fought heavy battles in eastern Ukraine today. The center of events was once again the city of Bakhmut, which had been heavily fought over for months, as the Ukrainian general staff announced in its evening situation report.
In addition to Bakhmut, Russian troops also advanced at Liman, Avdiivka and Marjinka. A total of around 30 attacks had been repulsed there in the past few hours.
The Ukrainian air force intervened in the fighting during the course of the day and fired on Russian troop concentrations and anti-aircraft systems. Location information was not given, the information could not be independently verified.
