Florida woman sentenced to one month in jail for selling Biden's daughter's diary

NEW YORK – A women of Florida was sentenced Tuesday to one month in prison and three months of house arrest for stealing and selling President Joe’s daughter’s diary. Biden four years ago to the conservative group Project Veritas.

Aimee Harris was sentenced in federal court in Manhattan by Judge Laura Taylor Swain, who said the Palm Beach, Florida, woman’s actions were “despicable.”

Harris pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal conspiracy in August 2022, admitting that she had received $20,000 of the $40,000 that Project Veritas paid for the personal belongings of the president’s daughter, Ashley Biden.

Project Veritas, founded in 2010, identifies itself as a news organization.

Harris tearfully apologized for allowing Ashley Biden’s private diary to be sold after she found it along with other items at a friend’s home in Delray Beach, Florida, in 2020, where prosecutors say Ashley Biden believed that his items were safely stored after he temporarily stayed there in spring 2020.

“I don’t believe I’m above the law,” Harris said after a prosecutor asked for a prison sentence after the woman failed to show up for several hearings because she was caring for her two children, ages 8 and 6.

As an attorney for Ashley Biden watched from the public section of the court, Harris apologized to the president’s daughter, saying she regretted making her childhood and life public.
