On January 20th, after a long break, the premiere of the Dornbirner Fools’ Evenings will take place.
Dornbirn. Preparations and rehearsals are in full swing. From January 20, around 150 artists will again offer a colorful show program for all fans of the fifth season on a total of five fools’ evenings. From the Kehlegger Garde, numerous Dornbirn veterans on the cabaret stage to show guests from the neighboring communities, such as the Garde from Höchst – “this year’s program leaves nothing to be desired”, emphasizes guild master Dagmar Fenkart-Kaufmann. And Schnorrowagglar Hugo Nussbaumer adds: “The star of the Dornbirn Fools’ Evening is always the big picture, so to speak. The great diversity, starting with the children’s and teenage guards, music trains and, of course, humorous and now and then socio-politically critical speaking numbers round off the program and therefore there is certainly something for every viewer.”
The wait was worth it
After a long dry spell of Corona, Dornbirn’s fools are all the happier to finally be able to hold the traditional fool’s evenings again this year. The fools’ evenings of the Dornbirner Fasnatzunft have traditionally been held in Dornbirn every January since almost “commemoration of mankind”. Initially in the Dornbirner Stadthalle, since 1994 in the Kulturhaus. At the last Fools’ Evenings in 2020, around 4000 spectators were entertained for four hours on six event days. The artist troupe now wants to continue this success with the 45th edition in 2023 and put a lot of strain on the diaphragms of the audience in the tried and tested manner. The Schnorrowagglar Hugo Nussbaumer will lead the evening (since 2015) and the past year is guaranteed to provide material for subtleties and anecdotes.
