Four climbers met a tragic end while attempting to conquer the mighty Citlaltépetl, commonly known as the Pico de Orizaba volcano, located in central Mexico.

The incident occurred on the south side of the colossal mountain and claimed the lives of these adventurers. Although the accident happened on Saturday, the bodies of the victims were discovered on Sundayas reported by the Civil Protection authorities of the central state of Puebla.

Reports from the authorities indicate that the climbers suffered a fatal fall while ascending Citlaltépetl, a volcanic peak that stands proud in the municipality of Atzitzintla. The tragic fall caused severe injuries that proved fatal to the unfortunate group.
