FC Nantes have sacked Algerian international Younes Benali. The reason ? It’s quite simply for having chosen to play the CAN U17 with the young Fennecs.

In his list of players selected for CAN U17, national coach Arezki Remmane called several players who play abroad. We cite, among others, the midfielder of FC Nantes, Younes Benali.

But the young player has obviously paid to hide his choice to represent the young Fennecs. Indeed, he saw his contract terminated. The management of the club sent him the endorsement of termination.

“FC Nantes has terminated Younes Benali’s contract for participating in CAN U17. The guy knew he was going to meet this fate, but he decided to take part in the tournament anyway. Even young people do not escape your racism! You will find better than FC Nantes, inchallah”. Hafid Derradji commented on his official social media accounts.

A brutal termination of contract!

It must be said that the termination of Younes Benali’s contract on the part of his resident club has sparked some controversy on social networks. Many are unanimous in saying that the player was unfairly fired, without valid reason.

This treatment is shocking to say the least and deserves to be denounced. Benali is certainly not the first player to come under pressure from his bosses to give up international competitions with his home country.

We hope that this bad news will not affect the level of the player for the rest of the CAN U17.

As a reminder, last month, Jaouen Hadjam was removed from the first team by coach Antoine Kombouaré for refusing to break his fast. Apparently, Algerian players often face problems at FC Nantes.
