With 81.85 million hours of viewing since its release on April 28, the action feature film starring Alban Lenoir and Eric Cantona is the most watched French film in the world on Netflix.

Full box for AKA. The action feature film starring Alban Lenoir and Eric Cantona has become the most viewed French film on Netflix worldwide, the platform announced on Wednesday.

AKA has totaled 81.85 million hours of viewing in ten days since it was posted on the platform on April 28, according to figures published by Netflix.

Directed by Morgan S. Dalibert, AKA tells the story of an agent (Alban Lenoir) infiltrated into a mafia organization led by a godfather whose role is played by Eric Cantona.

He is ahead far from the ring road (with Omar Sy), which was the most viewed French film on Netflix so far. Posted in May 2022, far from the ring road accumulated 78.63 million hours of viewing during its first 28 days of broadcast (period used by Netflix to establish its rankings).

7th most viewed non-English language film in Netflix history

All nationalities combined, AKA topped the most-watched movies worldwide on Netflix for the second week in a row, with 49.3 million hours for the week of May 1-7 alone.

It is currently 7th in the ranking of the most viewed non-English language films in history on the platform, and will still get closer to the top.

The first is the Norwegian film Trollwhich totals 155.56 million hours viewed but will no longer progress, since it was put online in December and the counter is stopped after 28 days.

If we take English-language films into account, these are American feature films Red Notice (2021) et Don’t Look Up (2021) which are first in this ranking, with respectively 364 and 359 million hours of viewing during their first 28 days of broadcast. All these rankings have been established by Netflix since 2021.
