The Scouts Montafon invited to breakfast together on the church square in Schruns
Despite the cool temperatures, numerous interested and hungry people followed the invitation of the Montafon scouts to have breakfast on the Schrunser church square. The Scouts Montafon also invited to a very special anniversary, as they are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year. “Due to Corona, we had to do without our breakfast for the last two years, which is probably why it’s twice as much fun this year,” explains Rudi Czegka, chairman of the Montafon scouts. In the yurt set up especially for this purpose, there was everything your heart could desire in terms of culinary delicacies.
From delicious croissants to hearty farmhouse bread, sweet jams and spreads to savory delicacies, hearty cheese and tasty sausages, everything was represented. But healthy delicacies such as fruit and yoghurt were also on the menu. For the little visitors there was a choice of tea or cocoa, while the adults were offered coffee. “This action is so important that we present ourselves to the people as an association and also show our presence. On the other hand, the visitors can get an idea of all the activities that take place for the kids,” explains Werner Amann, one of the founding members of the Montafon Scouts.

The children in their different age groups meet every one to two weeks to carry out activities together. This can be building a cooking area, setting up a tent or simply making observations in nature. “Our goal is to make responsible people out of children and young people who appreciate togetherness and the environment,” says Czegka. In any case, the breakfast was very much appreciated by the numerous visitors to the Schrunser Kirchplatz. And it wouldn’t be the Boy Scouts if there wasn’t a program for the kids too. In a smaller tent next to it, the little ones were allowed to decorate their own wind turbines with the help of older boy scouts and then assemble them themselves. This resulted in a great morning for young and old, which the visitors visibly enjoyed.
