Last week, an insistent rumor spread on the web. An imminent deal to produce a Harry Potter series was about to close. A few days later, Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed the rumors by formalizing the Harry Potter series. This will adapt the seven books by JK Rowling and will be broadcast over a period of ten years.
Executive producer, the author confides her impatience at the idea of participating in “this new adaptation which will allow to have a degree of depth and detail that only a long television series can offer“. Quickly, many fans shared their dismay on social networks after the announcement of this reboot.

Origin story of the founders of Hogwarts, story of the marauders (James Potter, Sirius, Lupin and Pettigrew), Tom Riddle’s descent into hell… Some Potterheads regret that Warner is making a rehash even though there are plenty of other ways to feed the lore. “They have a phenomenal cast of characters and they would prefer a reboot…a series on Tom Riddle would have been a really good choice, to see when and how he went down. But no…”, laments a fan.
Aficionados of the cinematographic saga also greeted the news with bitterness. “Harry Potter is Daniel Radcliffe. Snape is Alan Rickmann. McGonagall is Maggie Smith. Point. You don’t have to take on new actors to take on the same characters. Especially not for an anything but ordinary franchise that spanned 10 years.” points out a disillusioned Internet user.
