The National Gendarmerie hijacked a utility vehicle with more than 51 kilos of marijuana in Misiones at dawn this Friday. The vehicle, which had previously evaded a control, was found without occupants and with its doors open on the side of the shoulder, with 70 packages containing the drug.

According to what was reported by official sources of the Force, personnel from the “Aristóbulo del Valle” Section, dependent on Squadron 9 “Oberá”, were carrying out control tasks, at the moment a utility vehicle approached, ignoring at the signals of the uniformed men.

After observing that the driver of the utility vehicle did not slow down and stopped some thousand meters above the shoulder and the gendarmes proceeded to search it. It was without occupants and with the doors open, revealing two large packages inside.

With the intervention of the Federal Court and the Oberá Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the officials moved the vehicle to the seat of the Unit, where they opened the packages in the presence of witnesses, verifying inside, 70 rectangular packages wrapped in tape, whose content threw positive result for “cannabis sativa”, totaling 51 kilos 850 grams, which were seized by Force personnel.
