This is a ranking of all passports in the world according to the number of destinations accessible to their holders. without visa. This is according to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

According to IATA, international travel is 75% of pre-COVID-19 levels. This ranking, updated quarterly, remains unchanged for the nations at its head. Indeed, the Japanese passport still occupies first place with a total of 193 accessible destinations out of 227 in the world.

Second place in this ranking is shared between the South Koreans and the Singaporeans. Who got a total score of 192 visa-free destinations. Germany and Spain jointly occupy third place on this podium with a total score of 190 destinations worldwide.

Henley 2023 ranking: what about the Algerian passport?

Unfortunately, the Algerian passport is not among the most powerful in the world. Indeed, in this new ranking of Henley & partners, the Algerian passport occupies the 90th place. Thus, the latter climbs four places compared to 2022 (94th), and six places compared to 2021 (96th).

With this ranking, the Algerian passport entitles these holders to access only 53 visa-free destinations. A score which remains insufficient to integrate the podium of the most powerful passports in the world.

In addition, according to Henley & partners, Algerian passport holders can access the following countries without visas: Haiti, Dominica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Indonesia, Macao, the Maldives, Malaysia, Nepal, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador.

People with an Algerian passport can also travel visa-free to: Cook Islands, Palau Islands, Micronesia, Samoa, Niue, Tuvalu, Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, Syria and Yemen. On the African side, Algerians have visa-free access to: Benin, Burundi, Cape Verde, Comoros, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Nigeria, Seychelles, Tanzania, Togo, Somalia, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
